Appointments can be made up to 20 days in advance.
It is important to tell the receptionist what sort of treatment you need, so they can decide whether you need to see a doctor or a nurse.
We also have what is known as an advanced access appointment system. This means you get to see a doctor or nurse within 48 hours, but if you request a specific doctor, you may need to wait longer.
It is sometimes possible to book a double appointment if you need to discuss more than one problem. If you are more than 10 minutes late, you will be asked to either rebook your appointment, or wait until the end of surgery to be seen by a doctor. If you are unable to keep an appointment, please let us know as soon as possible, so it can be offered to another patient.
You can ask to speak to either your doctor or a nurse, if you wish to discuss your problem over the telephone. This is a quicker way of dealing with some problems. However, you will be asked to leave your telephone number, so that the doctor can get back to you at a mutually convenient time.
There will be a duty doctor, at the surgery in the mornings, to deal with those patients needing urgent appointments.
Home visits are only made for those patients who are housebound, too frail or too ill to come to the surgery. Please call us before 10 am and give us as much information as possible, to help us decide if and when a visit is required. Home visits are not ideal, as it is better to treat someone in our well equipped surgery, and a visit takes significantly longer than a surgery consultation.
If you need urgent advice during our opening hours, please leave a message with the receptionist, and we will contact you as soon as a doctor is available. For advice when our surgery is shut, please call Harmoni on 020 7388 5800.
If you need to be seen the same day, please call us between 8.30 and 9.30am Monday to Friday. If there are no appointment slots available, then you will be put through to our triage nurses, who will give you a telephone consultation or advice, followed by a routine appointment at a later date.
In an emergency just call 999 for an ambulance as it is safer to get to a hospital if you have:
We welcome new patients but please check our list of street names to see if you are within our catchment area. This is very important as we will not take anyone from outside this area.
The registration form together with our health questionaire can be collected from our receptionists. If you were previously registered with a GP we will need your NHS number. We also need one proof of identification like your passport or driving licence and two proofs of residency which can be a bank statement, a utility bill or tenancy agreement. All these must have your name and address clearly printed on it and dated within 3 months. Please also make sure that the information you give us on the forms, about your health and lifestyle, are accurate.
All new patients are given a health check on joining the practice.
Please inform us when you change your name, address or telephone number so we can update our records.
